Senior Manager - Risk and Quality CA(SA) | PKF Cape Town

PKF Cape Town is looking for a Senior Quality and Risk Manager CA(SA) to join their team!

This role plays a crucial role in improving quality within our firms’ quality endeavours. The individual with the direction and supervision of Quality Partner ensure that the firm adheres to the applicable professional and legal requirements.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Operational responsibility for the execution, implementation and monitoring of all the quality procedures and requests contained in the PKF Cape Town System of Quality Management Manual including:
  • File Reviews
  • Process for the retention and assembling of engagement files
  • Managing the process and final compilation of the IRBA fee declaration
  • Client take on procedures
• Perform ISQM monitoring procedures
• Attend network quality and technical meetings
• Assist with Technical queries to partners and managers
• Identify areas of training based on quality control reviews, preparing content and providing training.
• Oversight of developments in the audit software in addition to including good practices.
• Facilitation of file and firm revies (network and IRBA)
• Quality reporting to network (PKF SA) and IRBA
• Regular interactions with member firms and discussing findings with the engagement partners and leadership of the member firms.
• Participating in relevant network related quality initiatives/projects

Requirements:

• Registered CA(SA)
• At least, four years post qualification/articles experience.
• Experience as a Manager/Senior Manager or equivalent in an external audit firm.
• Excellent technical knowledge and experience in auditing and financial reporting standards.
• Working knowledge of ISQM 1 & 2 and the IRBA Code.
• Expert knowledge of the ISAs.
• Expert knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SME.
• Integrity and objectivity.
• Excellent knowledge of the latest professional standards and pronouncements.
• A keen interest in auditing and the technical aspects of auditing.
• Comfortable in a digital world when working or inspecting relevant areas using IT/IS.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Professional maturity and attitude.
• Deadline driven with high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent time management skills.
• High level of maturity, self-motivated and able to work both alone and in a team.
• Working knowledge of CaseWare, Excel, Word, Pastel, Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience in GreatSoft would be an advantage.
• Own transport, a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel. (Beneficial but not a prerequisite)
